Hi everyone!! So...*sigh*...I was a little bummed this week. My parents took my twin girls on a mini vacation to Dutch Wonderland in Pennsylvania and when they first planned this I thought, "GREAT! Yes I will miss them BUUUUUUT I can get SOOOO much done in the classroom without the constant interruptions!!" Well...all was well with the world until....the dreaded email from my secretary..."Teachers will not be able to work in their classrooms until the 17th..."<br />
WHAAT?!?!?!?!?!!?!? But, but...that was NOT in my plan AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br />
I was mad, sad, devastated, crying, you name it! I was NOT a happy camper! <br />
Before you say it, I know that there are teachers in predicaments worse than mine but I am still mad!!!!!!! (To those teachers-I hope that all goes well for you and that the PREPPING CLASSROOM FAIRY visits you and grants all of your preparation wishes!!!!)<br />
<br />
Ugh...so now what?<br />
Well, while I miss my girls, I was able to get a lot done and finish daily errands in less than 5 hours!<br />
It is awfully quiet but I went to the beach today ALONE!!!! It was relaxing!! Music in my ears and of course, a PD book in hand!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kYSM8Hhnmjo/VcwF9VcKW3I/AAAAAAAABUk/DBzZ7qkXaH4/s1600/IMG_5734.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kYSM8Hhnmjo/VcwF9VcKW3I/AAAAAAAABUk/DBzZ7qkXaH4/s1600/IMG_5734.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Only on the 3rd chapter but so far, what a great read!!!!!! I wish I found this book sooner!!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was also able to complete a project without too much mess (let's just hope the cat doesn't jump on them and leave little red cat footprints everywhere)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o7iA9D8XywA/VcwGL74KqHI/AAAAAAAABUs/a9yx0ZF7htA/s1600/IMG_5736.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o7iA9D8XywA/VcwGL74KqHI/AAAAAAAABUs/a9yx0ZF7htA/s1600/IMG_5736.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I purchased the original letters to spell READ in my library from Michaels and I was hoping to find the word LEER in Spanish but every time I went or no matter which one I went to, I was always short a letter. So next stop, Joann's Fabric! Bingo! Cardboard letters that I painted RED (Red is my Spanish language color). Yay!! I was able to create this for about $14, including paint and brushes. While it doesn't match my color scheme, it is something that I can use for YEARS so that is why I chose the red! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Also, on Periscope I watched Aly from <a href="http://justaprimarygirl.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Just a Primary Girl</a> make crate seats!!! She is so creative and great at explaining things for the artistically challenged, such as myself. (I print out pictures for my anchor charts-can't draw *hangs head in shame*) Check out her amazing blog by clicking the link above to see pics of her classroom!!!!! I LOVE her colors!!!!!! =)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To those teaching already-You are amazing!!!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To those planning or prepping-Good luck!!!!!!!</div>

<br />
<br />
Today, my dual language team from my building met to enhance and improve our dual language Spanish curriculum maps. We created these documents last summer using a technique that is similar to the "backwards by design" model. We want our students to be success as they learn their L2 (second language) and we needed to focus on key concepts, rather than just cover what the curriculum says. Each grade decided they were going to focus on certain key phonics and writing concepts to ensure positive success and self-esteem as they learned Spanish. <br />
My director purchased this book for us and I LOVE it!!! It has some great tips and information that I can't wait to implement next year in my classroom!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1DS5QxrbL5A/VbKZ3gmIWMI/AAAAAAAABTY/v0Oc70KfiN8/s1600/img8.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1DS5QxrbL5A/VbKZ3gmIWMI/AAAAAAAABTY/v0Oc70KfiN8/s1600/img8.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So as we create our maps and we work on our phonics and writing/grammar focus, I think how I can have the students practice and reinforce these skills during centers or independent practice. In years past, I have had bins upon bins of bags full of papers and worksheets and centers and I honestly would forget about some great items or products or just keep adding to the pile until my bins were unorganized and out of control. I did some MAJOR cleaning in my classroom before the school year ended and I won't even begin to tell you how much I had to recycle or trash. I created this instead:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RX3nL2aP6Pw/VbKZtbWM-xI/AAAAAAAABSc/FB96zTPmqVU/s1600/img10.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RX3nL2aP6Pw/VbKZtbWM-xI/AAAAAAAABSc/FB96zTPmqVU/s1600/img10.jpeg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Inside, I have 4 different sections-phonics, sight words, writing, and seasonal. As I work on my maps, I can take out my games and activities and place them in the correct order of how I will teach the skill. Right now, they are not in the correct order but once my curriculum map is finished, I can move the sheets and sheet protectors around.</div>

On a side note-I am really stressing about my classroom.....I know I have a month but I feel that that is not enough time!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else feel the same way????? </div>

I just came back from celebrating my 10 year anniversary with my hubby at Lake George....it was beautiful. My daughters stayed with my in-laws and we were able to relax and just go with the flow and not have to worry about a schedule! It was nice! I missed my girls but it was nice just to go and not worry about certain things like, "Did I pack a snack?" "Is there a bathroom nearby?" There was even one day where we had a late breakfast and completely skipped lunch and had an early dinner. When you have kids, there is no way you can do that!!! =)<br />
So now we are back to reality and I still have a month until school starts but my brain is always working so I like to get into my classroom as soon as possible to I can plan, organize, and all that fun stuff!<br />
So the entire trip, I was joking with my hubby saying, "If we see a Target we have to stop" and he really couldn't understand why until I explained it to him. I was telling him that through Periscope and Instagram, I could see all of these great things that teachers across the country were finding in the $1 spot bins. I had to then explain that our $1 bins by us are different from the other $1 bins and he eventually understood my enthusiasm. When we left Lake George, we had extra time before we had to meet my girls and in-laws for lunch so he said, "Google search the nearest Target and we can stop." I squealed (yes squealed) in joy. We had to make a few u-turns along the way but we found one that was close to our meeting spot and I was so happy! <br />
We headed inside and got to filling up the cart-he was actually worse than me! He kept putting things in the cart that I already had and trying to help me find uses for certain things as well!! I love it! He then said this magical phrase:<br />
<i>"Okay, if you have the storage space for it, do you see anything here that you could use for your theme for the NEXT school year?"</i><br />
<br />
I may have fainted.<br />
<br />
He knows that I am doing a SUPERHERO theme for the NEXT school year (this year is sweet treats again) and he was helping me plan ahead!!!! I could not believe it!<br />
Well I then took the cart and filled it up some more!!!!!! =) I have SOME storage space in my classroom and what I can't fit, I will put inside a big tub and store in my basement at home! <br />
Here are some of my purchases and what I plan to use them for:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xgAyo_hZi9E/Vaz6MM2GXVI/AAAAAAAABRI/50YbVUxjuGI/s1600/pic1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xgAyo_hZi9E/Vaz6MM2GXVI/AAAAAAAABRI/50YbVUxjuGI/s1600/pic1.jpeg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are for my SUPERHERO theme-I will put pens, pencils, scissors and other materials inside and then label the bins. They did have some superhero bins as well but not enough for a set...don't worry...I have 2 Targets in my area to check out ;) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7GzDiOl5m1g/Vaz6bleFD4I/AAAAAAAABRQ/sHLmX4HmpKk/s1600/pic2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7GzDiOl5m1g/Vaz6bleFD4I/AAAAAAAABRQ/sHLmX4HmpKk/s1600/pic2.jpeg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am going to use these glass jars to erasers and other things in my classroom. I also purchased a few for my house to store some items in.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QHJuYnul5fM/Vaz6mshJXNI/AAAAAAAABRY/tLkg6SCJPX4/s1600/pic%2B3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QHJuYnul5fM/Vaz6mshJXNI/AAAAAAAABRY/tLkg6SCJPX4/s1600/pic%2B3.jpeg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Okay so every year I purchase a notebook to take my PD notes in and this Ice Cream one is perfect for my theme!!! I love it!!! I am also trying to find the matching folder!!!!!!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-06dGAnMpCBE/Vaz6wnesMVI/AAAAAAAABRg/_70dvYxXbbI/s1600/pic4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-06dGAnMpCBE/Vaz6wnesMVI/AAAAAAAABRg/_70dvYxXbbI/s1600/pic4.jpeg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
More bins for my superhero theme (for papers and centers) and some Happy Birthday pencils and Dr. Seuss erasers for my Prize box.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wlnt44imwAc/Vaz685gTCFI/AAAAAAAABRo/cpQfqT4xoqI/s1600/pic5.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wlnt44imwAc/Vaz685gTCFI/AAAAAAAABRo/cpQfqT4xoqI/s1600/pic5.jpeg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These lanyards are going to be for my "SWEET SUPERSTAR READERS" I am going to take out the "Hi my name is" tag and put in a card that my reading teacher made. The cards have the different reading strategies that we focus on in 1st grade and every time a student is able to use the strategy independently, they get to wear the lanyard for the rest of the day and they earn a DOJO point for achievement. Strategies include, "I can reread for meaning" , "I can use pictures", and "I can sound out the word". I had ones from the dollar store last year but the plastic pieces kept falling out and the cards were not staying in and it was a mess!! In this one from Target-the cards can slide right inside!!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iOh2lI1_zp0/Vaz8WIZciYI/AAAAAAAABR0/6eEMIB-ZQtg/s1600/pic6.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iOh2lI1_zp0/Vaz8WIZciYI/AAAAAAAABR0/6eEMIB-ZQtg/s1600/pic6.jpeg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Okay I will be honest...I didn't really NEED this rules decoration-I always make a poster with the class and a rules book with them but I thought this was really cute!!!! I am going to hang this by my door so that every morning, they can see this as they walk in the room and hopefully, this will help them to make good choices for the whole day! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So those are my TARGET purchases for this week!!! I know I am going to be back there this week so I will keep you posted! I will also be doing a Periscope on this as well and show you some other things!! Follow me @dynamicduallang!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(I also want to add that we passed a Five Below and a Hobby Lobby but we had no time because we had to meet our girls....it was VERY hard to drive past those two places....)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
To those that go back this week, happy teaching and good luck!! You will be amazing!<br />

The attitudes and drama have already begun-I am in BIG trouble! <br />
While trying to get them ready for Kindergarten and also keep them busy with fun activities and play dates, I also have school on my brain! I don't go back until September but I am always trying to reflect on the past year to improve for next year.<br />
I finished my advanced certificate in Reading last year and learned A LOT! Being a 1st grade teacher, we know that kids have to make SO many leaps and bounds from the start of 1st grade to the end of 1st grade and kids come in at all levels. I have had some kids who do not know all of their letters and sounds, some who know basic CVC works, some who have no sight word vocabulary and some who can read chapter books. It makes guided reading planning and center groups often difficult and time consuming! Add to the fact that I am also a dual language teacher in a stand alone program and also need to teach guided reading in Spanish and well, you can probably just imagine what my guided reading table looked like by the end of the day! <br />
So one of my goals this year is to find activities that are not only engaging but easy to prep and plan and are ready to go. I know and I am sure you know that we can plan this great guided reading lesson with a certain level and then when we meet, we find that the group, or one student, is struggling with a skill and then we have to search and find an activity to help them and at this point almost 10 minutes is gone from the lesson and less time is spent engaged and reading. I get so frustrated with myself when this happens. So at the end of the year, I thought, "What can I do? I need to make sure these kids are working and engaged and reading during the time I have them. I need to have things ready and organized." Guided reading time seems to fly by (yet cafeteria duty DRAGS...hmmmm....) so I NEEDED something and bad!!!!<br />
So I began my TpT search.....I came across this....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sH_iwWaV4fw/VZ8bvzP6n9I/AAAAAAAABPk/PrueNuq6jWA/s1600/Screen%2Bshot%2B2015-07-09%2Bat%2B9.10.22%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sH_iwWaV4fw/VZ8bvzP6n9I/AAAAAAAABPk/PrueNuq6jWA/s320/Screen%2Bshot%2B2015-07-09%2Bat%2B9.10.22%2BPM.png" width="304" /></a></div>
</div>
<div>
This AMAZING app was introduced to me yesterday and I am HOOKED!!!!!!! You follow teachers, similar to how you do on Instagram or Twitter but as they broadcast live video, you can watch it and comment!!!!! I was able to go to the beach today and the gym and watch three broadcasts!!!!!!!!!!! Once I get back to my classroom, I am going to start broadcasting live feeds too!!!!!!!!! You can even watch previous broadcasts for up to 24 hours (you just can't comment). I am IN LOVE!!!!!!! =)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now, I am doing the SWEET TREATS theme again in my classroom. I usually do a theme for 2 years-it makes setting up the second year so much easier. I was able to invest in some coordinating library bins that I can't wait to set up! But of course, we teachers...always planning ahead!</div>
<div>
The following school year, my team and I are planning on doing SUPERHEROES and because summer is the time to create, I have already worked on creating things for the SUPERHERO classroom!!!!!!</div>
<div>
Here is my rules booklet! this was a big hit last year with kids and parents!!!!!!! I sent it home and also printed out the color copies for my classroom rule display!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We have been working with short vowel sounds this week in English and las vocales in Spanish!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are some great videos from YouTube!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/WtbL3byFa18?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe> The kids LOVE LOVE LOVE this video!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Also we started using ESTRELLITA this year! Here are some videos for that! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/J3m5WNefmwQ?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/S01mQgy15pw?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We also have TOTALLY embraced using GoNoodle! If you do not know about it, please please please go check it out and sign up-it's free and it is a GREAT way to get their energy you and refocus!! My class loves it!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We also started using Writer's Workshop this year. Our amazing teachers worked over the summer to create a great model for us and we started the IMMERSION level this week! We immerse the kids in mentor texts and writing routines. This is going on during my English days. On Spanish days, we are working on developing our Spanish vocabulary and also correct sentence structure in Spanish. So far, we are doing very well. Today, we wrote about something we did when there was no school, like this past weekend or even something they did this summer that they wanted to write about. Our Mentor Text was The Dot and it was perfect!! Kids just drew, or wrote a word, or even a sentence and I was so proud of them because they worked the entire time AND did their best! Here is a chart I made to talk about storytelling (please forgive the lack of visuals...forgot to get them from the printer-I don't draw so I print a lot of pictures! )</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4MZsr1JAxnk/VBjgtBJAVWI/AAAAAAAABMk/XklvTc-7JL0/s1600/photo%201-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4MZsr1JAxnk/VBjgtBJAVWI/AAAAAAAABMk/XklvTc-7JL0/s1600/photo%201-1.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Sorry for the folded paper-I have to change my charts a lot because of the English/Spanish so I often fold them and keep them by my lessons-it says, "If I can think it, I have a story to tell. If I can tell it, I can write it, if I can write it, I can illustrate it". </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tomorrow is Spanish day so I am going to continue with our Interactive Notebook and I am going to do the A from my Actividades del Cuaderno pack in Spanish! <a href="http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Actividades-del-cuaderno-Interactive-Phonics-activities-in-Spanish-1302811" target="_blank">Interactive Notebook in Spanish</a>..I hope to take lots of pics to post!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy teaching!!</div>

The first two days are complete!! AND the classroom is clean and supplies are put away!!! I don't think that has EVER happened in my 9 years of teaching! My class is great!! One of the great things about the dual language program is that the kids know me very well because their Kindergarten teacher and I are friends and we do a lot together! They came right in on the first day like they owned the place!! I love it!!!! =) They are doing very well with the rules and routines and next week, we will begin centers! They already asked for Homework!!<br />
Here is a pic of my "Sweet First Day" hat that we made! Excuse my sweaty face-we have no air conditioners in our classrooms and the first week of school was probably the hottest week we have had ALL summer! Go figure, right?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-W6yAnXCOBgk/VAoztsiXhVI/AAAAAAAABLs/2TmfsV3bFOQ/s1600/10629763_818224684866661_3627700611327630613_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-W6yAnXCOBgk/VAoztsiXhVI/AAAAAAAABLs/2TmfsV3bFOQ/s1600/10629763_818224684866661_3627700611327630613_n.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yGhy00_khOA/VAozyZxPFmI/AAAAAAAABL0/lVe7hNd1mBM/s1600/10583806_818224708199992_1688321049312841674_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yGhy00_khOA/VAozyZxPFmI/AAAAAAAABL0/lVe7hNd1mBM/s1600/10583806_818224708199992_1688321049312841674_n.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a> The kids loved making their own! The kids then put the hat on, I made them wear an apron, and gave them a cookbook to hold for a picture! I am using those for a gift for their parents at back to school night! I am also thinking of making a hat that says, "1st grade WAS sweet!" for the end of the year and then putting the two pics side by side as an end of the year gift to their parents. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Something we did today, which was super fun and helped them review letter/sounds was a name chart! I didn't get a great picture but on the first day, the students got a baggie with the letters of their name inside. They glued the letters in the correct order. Then today, we used an alphabet chart and drew a picture that is associated with the letters in their name.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Example:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hennessy</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would draw a picture of a house, elephant, net, net, elephant, snake, snake, yo-yo</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They loved doing this! I found this idea from another teacher blogger and let me tell you-success!! Cant' wait to hang them up for back to school night!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iaQgJo2ifps/VAo10RJd3hI/AAAAAAAABMA/c87uo0TASzQ/s1600/photo%2B1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iaQgJo2ifps/VAo10RJd3hI/AAAAAAAABMA/c87uo0TASzQ/s1600/photo%2B1.JPG" /></a>This student has an R as the first letter so he drew a picture of a rainbow!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We also read, "Interrupting Chicken"-love this story! We then used an activity that I found on TpT! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-59wR8DHgLug/VAo2Jwkk7sI/AAAAAAAABMI/YaKq__JpyXY/s1600/photo%2B3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-59wR8DHgLug/VAo2Jwkk7sI/AAAAAAAABMI/YaKq__JpyXY/s1600/photo%2B3.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For math, we read Chrysanthemum and counted the letters in our name!! I had to add another chart paper! The kids loved this too!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-A-uR3gEsEUg/VAo2XR5sewI/AAAAAAAABMQ/03JTX7gUb9Y/s1600/photo%2B4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-A-uR3gEsEUg/VAo2XR5sewI/AAAAAAAABMQ/03JTX7gUb9Y/s1600/photo%2B4.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, I am one tired teacher so it is early to bed tonight!! Hope everyone had a great week!</div>

As soon as we get the "Okay, you can come in and start to set up," I am there with my twins in hand, bags of food, movies, and toys to keep them occupied and my bags of teaching stuff. Many people think I am nuts but this crazy girl made it so that my classroom is ready and I can enjoy these next few days with friends and family and not have to worry about my classroom being ready for students. We have 2 conference days before the kiddies come it but they are usually filled with meetings, allowing for very little time in the classroom or to plan with colleagues. Here are some pics! I am still waiting on a few things to come back from our laminating center but overall, my room is ready! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

A great friend found these are TARGET-they are BOOK COVERS!!!! I have them at my guided reading table so that while they are reading with me, they can keep their other books and supplies behind them on the chair. If they work, I will definitely be going back to get more! They were the Jumbo ones and they cost less than $1!!! How can you go wrong???</div>

Each student has a number. I created these and they are <a href="http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Sweet-Treats-Mailbox-Labels-FREEBIE-1303547" target="_blank">FREE </a>in my TpT store but I had to cut them down because my mailboxes are small-but they still look cute! The mailboxes are for notes and letters home but I realized that I have room to store their science books and math workbooks! I will have a captain from each table be in charge of getting the books before the lesson so that the books don't get ruined or lost or mixed up at the table!! When I realized this today, I was so excited! </div>

Each table is a different sweet treat and I have little magnets that I can add for positive behavior! We use CLASS DOJO in the entire school so at the end of the day, the table with the most points gets an extra DOJO point! I also just uploaded a new product! It is 1/2 off for the rest of this week! It is great for centers and also for class work and homework!! You can use it as review or as you introduce each Spanish letter! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, we start on September 2nd and the kids start on the 4th. I am spending the next few days shopping, getting my nails done, shoe shopping, going to the beach, going to the pool, and of course, play dates!!!!! For those of you teaching, have a great week and for those of you getting ready, good luck!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

AHHHH!!! Every time I go to my classroom, I think, "Okay I can get a ton of things done today" but when I leave, I always add more and more things to my "to-do" list!!! And sadly, summer is coming to an end!! I am trying to spend the next few weeks making play dates, going to the beach, and relaxing before my crazy schedule begins again. <br />
So I wanted to do table points for this upcoming school year to incorporate with the CLASS DOJO program the school uses (for more about CLASS DOJO-click <a href="http://www.classdojo.com/" target="_blank">HERE!</a>) I am naming each table after a SWEET TREAT. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dwI4nm9b-og/U-50_alvKmI/AAAAAAAABGY/hMerljn1dDI/s1600/10603206_806809829341480_1037871654384976042_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dwI4nm9b-og/U-50_alvKmI/AAAAAAAABGY/hMerljn1dDI/s1600/10603206_806809829341480_1037871654384976042_n.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cute, right!!??? So then, I am going to place these above the tables and then by my desk, I have the same candy jar templates but without the table names. I am going to use the visuals of the candy to help the students remember which table is which. My board with the jars is magnetic so when a table does a great job working together on a project or cleans up nicely, they can earn a point for their table. Each point is a candy piece. For example, the ice cream table has ice cream cone pieces, the gumdrop table has gumdrop pieces, etc. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sZSX9UiBK-U/U-51jONJQiI/AAAAAAAABGo/pTIfxd8SU_4/s1600/10407614_806809842674812_6199340967741468847_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sZSX9UiBK-U/U-51jONJQiI/AAAAAAAABGo/pTIfxd8SU_4/s1600/10407614_806809842674812_6199340967741468847_n.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MbB03EJ5N-Q/U-51eS8VQXI/AAAAAAAABGg/huM3wRxKh80/s1600/10270655_806809806008149_4591443978872400613_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MbB03EJ5N-Q/U-51eS8VQXI/AAAAAAAABGg/huM3wRxKh80/s1600/10270655_806809806008149_4591443978872400613_n.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I attached the magnetic pieces to the back of the candy templates. At the end of my school day, the table with the most points will get extra DOJO points for their DOJO monster! I think the kids are going to LOVE that!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also started to work on my apron for the classroom that I will wear during guided reading! This will help the kids to know that I am working in a group and they can't disturb me unless it is an emergency. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Still needs more CUTE decals but I can't wait to wear it! I am going to try and find a chef's hat too in order to complete the outfit!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I got inspired after making the apron to make a cute 1st day of school craft for the kids that I am going to use in their 1st day of school photos that I take as well!!!!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

When did you start or when will you start?</div>

I have some great products that will definitely help you organize your data for the school year!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is the Assessment Data Collection-Bilingual Edition (Spanish and English) Click the image below to check it out!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Assessment-Data-Collection-Sheets-Bilingual-Edition-1350090" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-21PrVE6cxIc/U96TYRu1OfI/AAAAAAAABDc/SUoZ9He6zHs/s1600/Slide1.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>

There is also an English only and Spanish only edition! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I plan on using this not only for my data binder but also to send home to the parents so that they are aware of the progress that their child is making. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In my district, we use AIMSweb to assess our students on letters, sounds, reading fluency, and nonsense word fluency. We use the nonsense word fluency to determine how the students can read and decode their sounds while they are reading. I am always trying to find great games and activities to help the students build their fluency while reading these words and practicing their sounds. With my theme being "SWEET TREATS" I thought I would try and incorporate the skill with cute bubblegum graphics!!!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Keep calm and craft on!Okay- I have had these ideas floating around in my mind ever since I have seen teachers post their classroom pictures on Pinterest or Facebook and I am SOOOOO happy that I was able to do some similar projects today!!<br />
This morning, my mom and my twinkie girls and I headed out to Michael's in search of cupcake ribbon and anything that would go with my SWEET TREATS theme....I hit the MOTHER LOAD!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rCPdczr52YA/U9WMRTV-VrI/AAAAAAAABBk/uullyDBiW9A/s1600/10502040_799756550046808_5334016636739832933_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rCPdczr52YA/U9WMRTV-VrI/AAAAAAAABBk/uullyDBiW9A/s1600/10502040_799756550046808_5334016636739832933_n.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The cupcake Duck Tape is going to be used to make their writing folders. I use BLUE folders for their English writing and RED folders for their Spanish writing and I put the tape on the spines of the folders to keep them together! I did this last year and at first, I was skeptical that they would last all year but they did! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also used the tape to make my cardboard baskets that I purchased from Target look nice and pretty! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Before: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RlX5XV48hCY/U9WM13Ya91I/AAAAAAAABCo/o8_ir26f93A/s1600/10522559_799785083377288_3046574887159506120_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RlX5XV48hCY/U9WM13Ya91I/AAAAAAAABCo/o8_ir26f93A/s1600/10522559_799785083377288_3046574887159506120_n.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is what it looks like now:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1MNFg9rROFw/U9WMwVgiYaI/AAAAAAAABCI/XOsWyw0OvjA/s1600/10353708_799830016706128_7144251874377147697_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1MNFg9rROFw/U9WMwVgiYaI/AAAAAAAABCI/XOsWyw0OvjA/s1600/10353708_799830016706128_7144251874377147697_n.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have to give it some touch ups and then I am going to add the designs and templates to make it look like a real oven!!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also purchased aprons, thin cupcake ribbon, and fabric markers today...my plan is to make an apron that I can wear when I am meeting with my guided reading groups so the students know that I am working with a group and I can't be disturbed unless there is an emergency...I used a crown last year but I had to throw it away because it broke. I think the apron will be cute...maybe I can even find a chef's hat to add to the outfit!!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I still have a little over a month of summer left and even though I am getting a lot accomplished, I still have a lot to do! Hope I can get it all done!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When do you go back to work?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Happy teaching!</div>

It is crazy that it is only the middle of July and the supplies are out! But...this is also the time of year when I start to look for items that I can use in the classroom to help make teaching easier or to help organize my supplies better! This is when I LOVE the Target $1-$3 section!!!! They always have such cute baskets or organizational tools that I can use....and the fact that it is all so cheap makes it even better!! I picked up 5 of these the other day:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c4JgjIxSVZY/U8ssNtavWXI/AAAAAAAAA_E/7Z3K5d31r3c/s1600/photo-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c4JgjIxSVZY/U8ssNtavWXI/AAAAAAAAA_E/7Z3K5d31r3c/s1600/photo-1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My plan is to use these for notebook/journal storage on the tables so the students can easily take out their interactive notebooks and writing journals.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't have a picture of the but I also purchased these great plastic wire baskets that I use for guided reading and for handing in student work. I saw a pin on Pinterest where a teacher purchased ribbon and used the ribbon to make the basket all pretty!! I am going to try and find some SWEET TREAT themed ribbon so that I can do this! If I can, I will post pics as soon as I complete them!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also completed two products today that I hope will really help my new group of firsties to remember and retain their sight words, not only when they read but also when they write. In the past, my students were able to identify the words in books but would have difficulty writing them independently. I hope that these booklets will help them because not only are they a great activity for centers or class work but it is a tool that they can take home for practice!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My plan is to keep making these units...we use the Treasures program in my school and I am hoping to make the sight word booklets for every unit in the series. I also plan on working on the rest of the FRY sight words and eventually get to the DOLCH list. They are 1/2 off until Tuesday so please go check them out! Here are some pics of what is included:</div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XZlHWX1sqwA/U8WqWTw-6zI/AAAAAAAAA98/ZCnKsvMDbSA/s1600/girl-scared-face.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XZlHWX1sqwA/U8WqWTw-6zI/AAAAAAAAA98/ZCnKsvMDbSA/s1600/girl-scared-face.png" height="297" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(courtesy of <a href="http://www.mycutegraphics.com/" target="_blank">MyCuteGraphics</a>)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
See that face above?? It is supposed to represent the fact that I had a back to school nightmare in the MIDDLE of JULY and I still have over a month of summer left!!!!!! Usually I have them every week during the last week of my summer vacation when I am always worrying about things....I am hoping that this is not a sign of things to come and I don't have one every night for the next month and 1/2! Yikes!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It started like every other 1st day...we all met for a quick meeting to discuss and review procedures and how we can help the new Kindergarten students and what not...the bell rings and I go to my classroom. My classroom was not the one I have now but that is not what REALLY had me panicking-the students waiting for me in the hallway were not my students! I know the group I am getting already because of the program I teach so I have already met their parents and I know every single kid I am getting...that was shock number one...THEN I realized, my classroom was not even ready-no bulletin boards, no name tags, no activity for them to do while I got the supplies collected and organized-which lead to shock number three-NO SUPPLIES-I had nothing, the kids did not bring in anything-it was a disaster! I had no idea what special we had to go to, did not know the lunch for the day...I remember feeling like I was running around in circles and then I finally woke up sweaty and gasping for air!! I could not fall back asleep after that! I was too afraid! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now, I KNOW this would NEVER happen because those of you who know me are aware of the fact that I am a little OCD when it comes to my room. I start to set up the bulletin boards before I leave for the summer and as soon as we get the ALL CLEAR to go in, I start to go in and set up! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I always try to make the 1st day go as smoothly as possible but for some reason, there are always hiccups. I have yet to find a good strategy to help me collect and organize supplies for the first day. I also tried a suggestion that I found last year which said to have containers of Play-Doh ready and allow the kids to play with it while you talk to any parents or console a sad child but my class last year did not seem to like playing with it...that is not to say that this year's class will feel the same-maybe they will like doing that this year so I think I will still go out and buy it for the class and leave it at their seats but I was wondering if anyone had any different suggestions???</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I know that I put a picture on my last post of a FREEBIE with my reading strategies set...I am adding A LOT to it and to help me with a sample page, I had one of my 4 year old twins pose with a mustache-what do we think? So cute, right??</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ddLGGT1fQ2Q/U8Wt0KK6LeI/AAAAAAAAA-I/U-I7BEWWBYY/s1600/photo+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ddLGGT1fQ2Q/U8Wt0KK6LeI/AAAAAAAAA-I/U-I7BEWWBYY/s1600/photo+5.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The mustache was way too big for her face but I thought it was adorable!!! =) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here are some pictures of some products I uploaded recently!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_S8TTufLkCs/U8WvPTvW4EI/AAAAAAAAA-U/rXGYIoEAsA8/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_S8TTufLkCs/U8WvPTvW4EI/AAAAAAAAA-U/rXGYIoEAsA8/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sorry it is blurry! This is from my Tarjetas del septiembre packet...I have a small wall in my classroom next to my door and I use this wall to post monthly and seasonal vocabulary in both English and Spanish: <a href="http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Tarjetas-del-septiembre-Vocabulario-1306338" target="_blank">Tarjetas del septiembre</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is one for my classroom labels!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Classroom-Schedule-and-Label-Cards-for-a-SWEET-classroom-EnglishSpanish-1315004" target="_blank">Labels for a SWEET classroom!</a><br />
<br />
And here is another product that I can't WAIT to use! We are starting the ESTRELLITA Spanish phonics program in the dual language classes this year and I love the program! I only have experience with the K program and I teach 1st so my plan for the first few weeks is to get them used to the letter-picture associations and review the letters and sounds in Spanish...I created this cute watches for the class to make as a center activity or even as an interactive notebook activity! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bnbaht1WwME/U8Wxip0MxqI/AAAAAAAAA-0/0tVQMpNp4Ag/s1600/photo+4.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Es-la-hora-para-aprender-el-alfabeto-Relojes-del-alfabeto-espanol-1308974" target="_blank">Relojes del alfabeto</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Please ignore the pretzels..I was hungry while I was working! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next week, I start my dual language curriculum writing and I finish my math curriculum writing...I am really happy with all of the work we have done for the math and I hope that my 1st grade colleagues feel the same way-the final math CC workbooks look so much better and are much more parent/kid/teacher friendly! When we get a final copy of the product, I will post a picture! </div>
<br />
<br />
Happy teaching! I know a few of my teacher friends out there have started work or will be starting soon! Good luck!<br />

And a FREEBIE!Ok so when I found this freebie mustache paper from <a href="http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Zip-a-dee-doo-dah-Designs" target="_blank">Zip a dee doh dah Designs</a> I thought of the cutest reading product that would help students to become independent readers! I created these anchor charts to use as I introduce each strategy. I am going to use them during guided reading groups and whole group instruction and the best part is, I can also send them home with parents to inform them of what is going on with their child's reading! I also included a checklist that can be sent home so that the parents are aware of what strategy they are focusing on for the week. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/I-mustache-you-to-use-your-reading-strategies-FREEBIE-1317156" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rD21swMcyK4/U77pj8W7daI/AAAAAAAAA9s/1KdaC7qr2-o/s1600/original-1317156-1.jpg" height="246" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Check it out!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On a different note, I am SUPER jealous of the teachers at the TpT and I teach 1st conference in Vegas this week! I am hoping to go next year!! Better start saving now!! =)</div>

I am on 2 summer curriculum writing teams this summer and we started adapting and changing our math to make it more parent/student/teacher friendly for next year...we are also working on writing and creating a Spanish curriculum that implements the ESTRELLITA phonics program! I am very excited about that! I have been working super hard on creating new and interactive products for next year AND also products that go with my awesome new classroom theme which is...SWEET TREATS!!! I have been planning this theme since last summer! I used the HOLLYWOOD theme for 2 years and loved it but felt it was time for a change....I have even been working on centers that follow the theme!!!<div>My goal for next year with my students is to keep fostering independence in their learning and to make them confident readers and writers. I want my students to not only know the reading skills and strategies but how and when to use them. I want them to be able to edit and improve their writing. I already know my group of firsties for next year and most of the parents and I can't wait!!</div><div>Here are some pictures of my latest products!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9YwbuyjJckw/U732f1dayUI/AAAAAAAAA9M/I8WNzWshwDU/s640/blogger-image--1757794685.jpg" imageanchor="1"><span style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9YwbuyjJckw/U732f1dayUI/AAAAAAAAA9M/I8WNzWshwDU/s640/blogger-image--1757794685.jpg"></span></a><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;"><span style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-YVpo-1OgJaU/U732ipMuZTI/AAAAAAAAA9c/HSIRwehYBJc/s640/blogger-image--1382801386.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-YVpo-1OgJaU/U732ipMuZTI/AAAAAAAAA9c/HSIRwehYBJc/s640/blogger-image--1382801386.jpg"></a></span><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;"><span style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-YVpo-1OgJaU/U732ipMuZTI/AAAAAAAAA9c/HSIRwehYBJc/s640/blogger-image--1382801386.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-T7LUo9KI-Fg/U732hCOr5BI/AAAAAAAAA9U/HNBv5-1x8Zg/s640/blogger-image--941680139.jpg"></a></span></div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">My good friend who teaches K is SUPER excited about the watches and I can't wait to use them as review!</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">My next product in the works is going to focus on reading skills and strategies..I "mustache" you...are you ready for it?</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">I also joined Twitter....find me and follow me @dynamicduallang</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">Until next time (I PROMISE it won't be months!)</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">Alyson Hennessy</div></div></div><br><div><br></div></div>Mrs. Hennessyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18063480825855510533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4340754180438785306.post-39179697886082903032014-03-13T18:04:00.001-07:002014-03-13T18:04:58.257-07:00Wow!!I am the worst with blogging!!! <div style="font-size: 25px; line-height: 39px; text-align: left;">
<div style="color: #374248; font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: red;"><span style="color: black;">Here are my answers to the questions from Mrs. Briggs:</span></span></span></div>
<div style="color: #374248; font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: red;"><span style="color: black;">1. How long have you been teaching?</span></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;">I have been teaching for 8 years. 3 of those years have been in a bilingual setting and 5 in a dual language setting. I am both the English and Spanish teacher-we have a stand alone model but rumor has it we are changing to side by side in the future! Unfortunately the years of teaching have been in 3 different districts-I have been excessed 3 times and finally received my tenure last year!</span></span></div>
<div style="color: #374248; font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: red;"><span style="color: black;">2. Coffee or Pop?</span></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;">I DEFINITELY need my coffee in the morning! I love soda too-my FAVORITE being diet Dr. Pepper. I try to drink lots of water during the day-especially flavored water! </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #374248; font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: red;"><span style="color: black;">3. What inspired you to start blogging or join TpT?</span></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;">I love reading blogs and getting new ideas in order to enhance my teaching. I LOVE TpT-I get to share my ideas with others AND find great resources to incorporate in my classroom! </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #374248; font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: red;"><span style="color: black;">4. What is your favorite thing to teach in the classroom?</span></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;">Hmmm...I am an avid reader-I love doing read alouds and shared reading! I also love teaching certain phonics rules, such as magic e/silent e and Bossy R! </span></span></div>
<div style="color: #374248; font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: red;"><span style="color: black;">5. What made you want to become a teacher?</span></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;">My brother-when he was 5, he was diagnosed with Asperger's and I wanted to become an educator so that I could help students just like him. My original passion was Special Education but it was very hard to find a job in that field when I graduated college. I began to pursue my certification in Spanish and bilingual education because I loved working with students who were English language learners and seeing their "A-ha!" moments when they were able to understand, read, say, and/or write something in English. In a dual language setting, I get to see that, as well as witness my native English speakers using Spanish in order to communicate! It is the best!</span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: black;">6. What grade do you teach currently/What grades have you taught in the past? </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;">I have taught grades K-3. I am currently teaching 1st grade.</span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: black;">7. What is your go-to, favorite outfit to wear to school? </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;">In the Fall/Winter-leggings with boots, an oversized sweater, and matching scarf. In the Spring/Summer-a dress, light sweater, and flip flops (I am a flip flop FANATIC!)</span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: black;">8. What is your favorite thing to do after school? </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;">Pick up my twin girls and see their smiling face as they run up to me and yell, "Mommy!"...and also relaxing! =)</span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: black;">9. How often a week do you update your blog? </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;">I NEED to do it more! I try and do once a week but I often get so busy with other things that I forget!! My goal this year is to be better with this!</span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: black;">10. What do you do with your summers?</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta;"> Stay at home mom/plan and prep for the next year! I try and keep my girls busy and occupied with day trips and play dates!</span></span></div>
<div style="color: #374248; font-family: Crushed; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: red;"><span style="color: black;">11. What is your biggest pet peeve in your classroom?</span></span></span></div>
</div>
<div style="font-size: 25px; line-height: 39px; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hmm...I actually have students who will blatantly talk while I am talking or trying to explain something and then when it is time to work independently or in a group, they say, "Wait, what do I need to do now?" </span></div>

Well-Happy Birthday to me= SNOW DAY!! Wow!! This week already we have used TWO snow days and a 2 hour delay which makes our totals 4 snow days and 2 delayed openings and the winter is not yet over! Rumor has it there is another storm that MAY come hit us on Sunday into Monday but it keeps changing-it could be a few inches or a few FEET..yup I said FEET!!! I'm over winter! Give me Spring and flip flops-I'll be a happy girl!<br />
So my class has been having some difficulties making good choices and it has been hard for them to calm their little first grade energy because of the weather and lack of outdoor recess so I came up with something that I hope will help...a class mascot!!!! My class responded VERY well with my Elf on the Shelf, Snowy, and I am hoping that class mascot will yield similar results! This is the letter they saw yesterday from Buddy the Dog!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w_-U75knHiI/UvKBsQnoDkI/AAAAAAAAA5A/bGBUngUHD6E/s1600/Slide1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w_-U75knHiI/UvKBsQnoDkI/AAAAAAAAA5A/bGBUngUHD6E/s1600/Slide1.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The class was very excited to see him and at the end of the day, they could not wait to see who he picked!!! And of course, they love the computer as an incentive!! I have an old iPhone with lots of educational games that I think I am going to bring in as another incentive too!!! =)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This week we continued with Long Vowels and Sneaky E! We had lots of fun!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I found these at the dollar store and put them in my GAME center. They had to match the short vowel word on the cover to the word with the long vowel sound and e to make the new word.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8eF4YF_-vRo/UvKD0zdiqlI/AAAAAAAAA5M/UqJmikdrtF4/s1600/magic+e+pic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8eF4YF_-vRo/UvKD0zdiqlI/AAAAAAAAA5M/UqJmikdrtF4/s1600/magic+e+pic.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The group yesterday were so excited to use them!! I also used my new Valentine's Day packet and put out my MAIL CALL center where the students have to sort and write long and short vowel words!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

They lost everything, including her 7 pets (they were not home at the time). Through social media, I have been asking friends and family if they have any donations of clothes or toys for her and her 3 year old brother. Today I was so happy as some friends who I still communicate with via Facebook but haven't seen since high school came to my house and dropped off 3 big bags of toys and clothes! I can't wait to drop them off at school tomorrow!!! I have other friends as well that are donating items and I had another friend who I have not seen in a while offer to drive around and pick things up for me if I am not able to go get them! Acts of kindness just like these...there are no words to describe how they make me feel...I am so appreciative that I know and have these people in my life.<br />
In honor of February and Valentine's Day, where we show people how much we care and love them, I am going to have a ACTS OF KINDNESS incentive..just thought of it and not really sure how to go about doing it but I will do some research and let you know what I come up with. It is also in memory of what I went through 3 years ago. When my girls were just 9 months old, I was diagnosed with a very rare form of uterine cancer. I had a lot of complications and almost didn't make it but after months of chemo and emergency surgery, plus the love and support of my family, I survived. Many acts of kindness were done for me, such as raising money for me at my school because I wasn't able to work for 4 months and my sick bank time didn't go through right away. My friends purchased formula, diapers, baby food, and clothes for the twins...My best friend also raised money so that I could get professional pictures taken of the girls and their 1st birthday, a milestone that I will always treasure. My husband's job gave us a $200 gift card to Babies R Us to help out with the girls and my mom's job also raised money to help pay for gas and medical bills (we had to commute for over an hour to get chemo 3X a week). Words can't describe how thankful I am, everyday, for these people and their kindness...they made a really hard time in my life a lot easier and when I introduce this to my students, I am going to tell the class all about these people and their acts of kindness.<br />
<br />
On a more positive note, I have uploaded a new product that I LOVE!!! It involves one of my FAVORITE phonics rules! SILENT E (aka Magic E, bossy E, etc.) I already have my list of YouTube songs ready to go for next week and the first rule I am teaching is a_e so those sheets are all printed out and ready to go! Here is the link to check it out!!!<br />

They are calling for more snow this week...I really hope we don't lose anymore days...the kids are so off because of these crazy snow days!!!! Plus, I have a lot to teach and they have a lot to learn!!! =)</div>

Then Friday I have an early morning math meeting!!! yikes!!!<div>Thank goodness for the upcoming 3 day weekend!!!</div><div>My observation tomorrow is focusing on reading skills and strategies so we have been really practicing our independent reading stamina and strategies these past couple of days. My skill for the week is "Does it make sense?". During my guided reading groups we have been working on sight words and deciding skills as well. Here are some pictures of kids in action!!<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ilJjSvK6rMo/UtXnk5gNC_I/AAAAAAAAA4E/tbRKjNfIp1k/s640/blogger-image-1974006030.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ilJjSvK6rMo/UtXnk5gNC_I/AAAAAAAAA4E/tbRKjNfIp1k/s640/blogger-image-1974006030.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gEQwAhmgQGU/UtXni5MifJI/AAAAAAAAA30/-33rB0MmyBw/s640/blogger-image-1321955373.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gEQwAhmgQGU/UtXni5MifJI/AAAAAAAAA30/-33rB0MmyBw/s640/blogger-image-1321955373.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-hOzsJPf_jqo/UtXnjzYwHhI/AAAAAAAAA38/jJ7BdMYGfwA/s640/blogger-image--343295770.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-hOzsJPf_jqo/UtXnjzYwHhI/AAAAAAAAA38/jJ7BdMYGfwA/s640/blogger-image--343295770.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">It's all about practice and modeling!! We are doing sight word games everyday and making cards for both the classroom and home! I also started book baggies for reading at home. It had been hard getting books that we can send home because in the past they never came back and we had no books for a class or group set. Thankfully I got some donations and used my reading A to Z account to do the rest!! I love when the kids love reading!! As an avid reader myself I want them to want to read, not just read because it is "time to read".</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Wish me luck for my observation tomorrow!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Happy teaching!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Alyson Hennessy</div><br></div><br></div>Mrs. Hennessyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18063480825855510533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4340754180438785306.post-89240926467246418992014-01-12T19:08:00.000-08:002014-01-12T19:08:23.315-08:00Observation Jitters!Okay...I have been teaching for 8 years and I still get nervous for formal observations! I would much rather people just pop in and watch! <br />
We are working on various reading strategies and I feel that my group has difficulties sometimes determining if what they are reading makes sense...welcome DETECTIVE DIANE!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z4EcO7PjLZE/UtNWrcdr7AI/AAAAAAAAA3Q/zXYD-Q0jenU/s1600/detectivedianepic.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z4EcO7PjLZE/UtNWrcdr7AI/AAAAAAAAA3Q/zXYD-Q0jenU/s320/detectivedianepic.png" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
She is going to help my class determine how to use clues to see if what they are reading makes sense!!! I am introducing her as part of my observation! We have met other characters, such as Donald Dentist (he gets your mouth ready)! I found this great product on TpT -Reading Strategy Crew<br />
<a href="http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Reading-Strategy-Posters-811713" target="_blank">Link to Number Two Pencils Product</a><br />
We have been using these in the classroom and I decided to create my own for this particular skill!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XF5pJuQdHX8/UtNYJpxIM8I/AAAAAAAAA3c/1oNPySHNl4s/s1600/detectivedianepic2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XF5pJuQdHX8/UtNYJpxIM8I/AAAAAAAAA3c/1oNPySHNl4s/s320/detectivedianepic2.png" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8sYyYf9RRUY/UtNYVjvBkvI/AAAAAAAAA3k/7uSM_N2H-mY/s1600/detectivedianepic3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8sYyYf9RRUY/UtNYVjvBkvI/AAAAAAAAA3k/7uSM_N2H-mY/s320/detectivedianepic3.png" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hope that the class enjoys them!! I am going to upload the product onto TpT later this week! If my observation goes well, I'll post it as a flash freebie!!!! =)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

What weekend??Wow!! I thought weekends were for relaxing but not this weekend...in addition to the regular activities, such as food shopping, cleaning, and laundry, we have Disney on Ice for my Twinkie girls and I have a baby shower tomorrow!! Plus I'm being observed next week and need to write up the plan, plan and organize a Math CC parent information night, and I have an ELA common core consultant coming in!!! Ah! I'm tired already. <div>So this week we has fun with visualization! We read The Napping House in Spanish and as I read I had the kids draw what was happening and I didn't show the pictures until the end!! They loved it!! We also did weather and we watched videos of lightening, tornadoes, and hurricanes!! They get so excited watching weather in action!</div><div>I introduced Silabas con g (ga, go, gu) and we made "casas de sÃlabas" </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-KeHdJkUzVCw/UtFbyDUmJ3I/AAAAAAAAA24/AecQAuK1T7Y/s640/blogger-image--141102391.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-KeHdJkUzVCw/UtFbyDUmJ3I/AAAAAAAAA24/AecQAuK1T7Y/s640/blogger-image--141102391.jpg"></a></span><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;"><span style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-KeHdJkUzVCw/UtFbyDUmJ3I/AAAAAAAAA24/AecQAuK1T7Y/s640/blogger-image--141102391.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-7QDidGevzVQ/UtFbzmCd_FI/AAAAAAAAA3A/Ac6bcUVWtkE/s640/blogger-image-1997980845.jpg"></a></span></div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">They did very well with it!! I'm going to work on making packets for all of the letters!!!</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">For my observation I am introducing the reading strategy "does it make sense?" with a character I created called Detective Diane! We have already worked on getting your mouth ready, looking for picture clues, and looking at word chunks!! I hope they like the activities I put together!! As soon as it's ready I'll upload it to TpT!</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">Also this week we introduced Bossy R with er, ir, and ur. At the end of the unit I created an assessment for each reading group based in their level...took me a long time but the assessments that we have are ver difficult for our ELLs and amy student reading below grade level. So I created reading stories, phonics questions, sight word sentences, and comprehension activities for each group I have. The students did very well with it-I only had to read the questions and the listening questions as well!! If you are interested go to my TpT store and check them out. I uploaded 2-one for ELLs and one for an on level group.</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">Wish me luck on my observation!! Happy teaching everyone!!!</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">Alyson Hennessy</div></div><br></div>Mrs. Hennessyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18063480825855510533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4340754180438785306.post-61006789327874475722014-01-07T20:12:00.001-08:002014-01-07T20:12:48.535-08:00New year, new products!!!<div><br></div>Happy New Year!!!! We had a bit of a shaky start going back last Thursday! Just as we went over routines and expectations for the rest of the year, up came a blizzard and closed school on Friday!! Crazy! Then we went in on Monday but had a two hour delay today due to the sub zero temperatures and the Polar Vortex!! It is hard to adapt to a schedule with a two hour delay but the class did great! I couldn't go ahead in math because I had a lot of students who did not come in so we did a review for math but continued with personal narrative planning, Bossy R, and visualization.<div>I read today "The sea creature from the deep" to have the students practice making visuals in their mind! It is from a visualization packet I found while reading Blogs and checking Pinterest for ideas and the class liked it! Here are some journal entries of their visuals </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZHZMguN1fpg/UszQJSEc49I/AAAAAAAAA2A/Ula2eUVUP8o/s640/blogger-image-960707658.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZHZMguN1fpg/UszQJSEc49I/AAAAAAAAA2A/Ula2eUVUP8o/s640/blogger-image-960707658.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Her </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-mR1JfOqoZ-Y/UszQHDORjlI/AAAAAAAAA1w/7GOskS_JZIs/s640/blogger-image-1399183440.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-mR1JfOqoZ-Y/UszQHDORjlI/AAAAAAAAA1w/7GOskS_JZIs/s640/blogger-image-1399183440.jpg"></a></span><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-mR1JfOqoZ-Y/UszQHDORjlI/AAAAAAAAA1w/7GOskS_JZIs/s640/blogger-image-1399183440.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hyKjer2w35U/UszQF8jbjZI/AAAAAAAAA1o/yaA3JqC8_lc/s640/blogger-image--1453002528.jpg"></span></a>They love looking at their partners work to see how their pictures are the same and different!</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">The next few pictures are from my Personal Narrative Writing packet! They class has been doing so well with the planning process and today you could hear a pin drop while they were drafting their story idea!!! It was amazing!! There are also pics of my New Year's Eve party horn resolutions and my Bossy R French Fry game-both are in my TpT store!!</div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-53OCoYtv0RQ/UszQPpanNPI/AAAAAAAAA2o/lUs9Y7fSCb0/s640/blogger-image--406766198.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em;
